Since I am such a dreamer, I have loved reading about the dreams of some of my favourite bloggers. The lovely Ally from Unknown Pleasures tagged me to take part in Sportsgirl’s Believe, so if you are interested, I have shared some of my dreams with you below.
Q: As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A: Mum and Dad tell me that when asked this question I said… ‘I want to be a grown up’. Since that was inevitable, I changed my mind quite often with what I really wanted to do – I eventually had my mind set on palaeontology as I loved dinosaurs, then I moved onto wanting to be a vet since I love animals. I came to the realisation that a vet had to see sick animals, so by high school I was thinking that zoology or marine biology would be ideal. That was until a teacher burst my bubble telling me how few jobs there were in all of those fields, and I settled on a career in science.
Q: Did you make this dream come true or change your mind?
A: Well the grown up part has certainly come true, it’s funny, I realised one day not so long ago that 18 year olds seem really young!
Interestingly I never even considered as a child that I might like to be a doctor, and throughout my teenage years I thought that it was way too long to study and yet here I am, on the pathway to becoming one. I still love animals, but am quite happy with the way things have turned out so far.
Q: What is your fave childhood memory?
A: I will always remember having a very Aussie Christmas at Burleigh Point, sitting in the rain with my parents and little brother, eating mangoes, getting completely drenched and not letting it bother us in the slightest.
Q: The biggest dream you have right now?
A: I am a massive dreamer, and have some realistic and probably less realistic dreams. Realistically, I am looking forward to the day that we will be graduated from uni and will officially be doctors, in the hope that we are able to do plenty of travel while having a satisfying career, possibly moving interstate and settling in to a fun filled life.
In the more obscure dream category, I would LOVE to publish a cookbook. It will certainly take some time and effort to get my cooking and photography skills to a level where I might be able to do so, but in the mean time I will keep at it on my blog.
Q: Your summer must-have pick from the current Sportsgirl range?
A: How could I only choose one?! This summer I will be living in crochet by day and sparkles by night, statement jewellery and a pop of colour. And there is nothing good about sunburn so a big floppy hat is a must-have.
