Although Melbourne Cup day and the racing season has now been and gone, I thought I would share a DIY for a floral fascinator as a part of Fizzle Out’s summer DIY series, as you never know when you might need piece of new headwear.

DIY: Neon Coffee Table Revamp


Neon is having a moment all over blog land, and I have noticed my pinterest boards slowly being overcome with bright colours.

I just can’t go past the way a splash of neon can light up an outfit, brighten up a room or add a fresh summery vibe to anything it touches.

Needless to say, when it came time to choose paint for my latest DIY project, I couldn’t go past the brightest neon yellow that I could find in Bunnings.

Uni holidays see DIY projects that have been bubbling away in my mind come to fruition.

I was chatting to a girlfriend who is into home decorating on a budget and she mentioned that she had used an old men’s business shirt with buttons as the back of a cushion cover, rather than bothering with extra material and zips.
